DE-CIX announces expands interconnection services in Dallas
DE-CIX Dalles, an Open-IX certified exchange and data center-neutral IX in Dallas, has expanded its network with a new switch at its point of presence (PoP) in Databank's downtown data center.
The new PoP offers networks colocated in DataBank's multiple Dallas area facilities the ability to connect directly to DE-CIX's Dallas IX, enabling reach to more than 60 networks.
DE-CIX's new PoP at 400 South Akard offers networks throughout the Dallas market the ability to connect to a major peering exchange while remaining fully diverse from 1950 N. Stemmons.
According to the company, its additional investment in Dallas underscores its commitment to expanding its reach to better serve the Dallas metro market.
"DE-CIX Dallas is committed to providing network operators in the Dallas metro market the greatest number of interconnection options," says DE-CIX North America vice president and general manager Ed d'Agostino.
"We're excited to be expanding and adding a great new partner like DataBank. Our partnership provides the market with a new and ideal diverse solution and offers a great place for single-site networks within the Dallas market to connect to a world-class peering exchange. Networks of all types, including those that are looking for diversity from Infomart, will find an excellent new home for their equipment with DataBank.
"DataBank, being a Dallas-based company with three data centers in the metro area, is an ideal partner for DE-CIX as we expand and strengthen our coverage and enhance diversity and redundancy solutions throughout Dallas and beyond," continues d'Agostino.
"We look forward to seeing this collaboration benefit network operators throughout the Southwest region.
DE-CIX Dallas provides interconnection capabilities throughout multiple data centers, delivering access to over 60 networks across its data center-neutral platform.
Network operators can reach DE-CIX Dallas cost-effectively via a standard cross connect at any of the ever-growing number of data center facilities throughout the local market.
In addition, networks throughout the entire Southwest that currently lack a presence in Dallas are now able access DE-CIX via transport connections. They can benefit from peering and enhanced connectivity throughout the region.
"This partnership with DE-CIX enables our customers to leverage connections to a leading carrier-neutral platform with the most cost-effective and efficient interconnection options available in the market," comments DataBank CEO Raul K. Martynek.
"As a result, DataBank now provides an ideal location for customers seeking diversity from facilities like 1950 N. Stemmons. In addition to our downtown location, networks can also access DE-CIX Dallas from our Richardson and Plano data centers.
DE-CIX North America also operates DE-CIX New York, the region's largest neutral IX, which features access to more than 220 networks.
