Influential industry analyst firm Gartner has recognised BT as having the most comprehensive 'Vision' in the Global WAN Services sector within the renowned 2024 Gartner Magic Quadrant. The announcement came on 17th April 2024 and marks the 20th year in a row that BT has obtained the coveted 'Leader' status within this prestigious report.

As per Gartner, the Magic Quadrant for Global WAN (Worldwide Area Network) Services is an independent report which serves as a highly reliable tool to evaluate and ultimately choose the most appropriate global network service partners. Gartner has appreciated and acknowledged BT's sustained efforts, emphasising it as a key player with a clear vision of the market's trajectory. According to the firm, BT's strong performance and organisational stability, coupled with a well-rounded portfolio of quality network services spanning the broadest geographies, have contributed to its continuous leadership positioning.

Gartner further sheds light on BT's important role in shaping the market direction. By consistently extending its coverage, creating new market-leading capabilities, and innovative commercial models, BT has been at the forefront of deploying them on a large scale. These commendable efforts not only cater to the global networking needs of a broad range of enterprises but also address several factors such as size, geographic distribution and vertical industry.

The latest development that has thrust BT towards this success is 'Global Fabric', a visionary new 'network-as-a-service' platform, as revealed by Bas Burger, CEO of Business, BT. "Customers tell me they want predictable performance for their apps, AI and IoT as well as future compliance on data sovereignty and sustainability. Our response is Global Fabric, our visionary new network-as-a-service. I thank our customers and partners for sharing their technology roadmaps, which has helped us develop this transformational new platform to meet their needs," stated Burger.

Further clarification was given on the name change of the Magic Quadrant. Previously known as the Magic Quadrant for Network Services, Global, it was re-titled as the Magic Quadrant for Global WAN Services, reflecting the evolution of the sector and the changing requirements of customers.
