BlackLine opens first Asia-Pacific data centre in Sydney

BlackLine has opened its first Asia-Pacific regional data centre within a Google Cloud facility in Sydney. This strategic investment aims to support customers with their data sovereignty requirements while enhancing their ability to scale finance and accounting (F&A) operations. By establishing a presence in Sydney, BlackLine aims to deliver the highest levels of performance, security, and resilience to its clients in the region.

The Sydney data centre is part of BlackLine's continuous investment in its APAC operations and complements existing data centre infrastructures in the United States and Europe. With this addition, the company expands its global coverage, aiming to better serve its growing customer base across the region. In case of disaster recovery, Google Cloud's data centre infrastructure in Singapore will provide the necessary backup for regional customers.

The new data centre is expected to address increasing demand from both private and public sector organisations for BlackLine's continuous rollout of new solutions and services. This site will enable the company to connect IT users with business applications over the shortest path, ensuring a fast and secure user experience. It also allows APAC companies sensitive to data sovereignty to maintain their data within the region, thus accelerating regional and global data initiatives by meeting country-specific data requirements.

Weaver emphasised that the addition of an onshore data centre in Australia would enhance the overall customer experience, allowing BlackLine to better support the localisation of its solutions while addressing evolving market requirements. BlackLine has been active in the APAC region for over 12 years and has a significant customer base both headquartered and operating within the area.
