A-FLOW tops off ML1 Data Centre in Laguna, Philippines
A-FLOW, a developer and operator of data centres in the Philippines, has achieved a major construction milestone with the recent topping off of its new ML1 Data Centre in Bian, Laguna. The project is a joint venture between FLOW Digital Infrastructure and AyalaLand Logistics Holdings Corp (ALLHC), and groundwork commenced in December 2022.
The strategically located three-building, carrier-neutral campus is designed to meet high standards of energy efficiency, scalability, and security, with an emphasis on site resilience and reliability. The completion of the first building's structural framework marks a significant step towards the centre's operational launch, scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2024. During the initial phase, the data centre will have a capacity of 6MW ready for service.
Key features of the facility include robust and secure infrastructure to ensure operational continuity, dual power feeds for enhanced redundancy, a hyperconnected environment to foster network diversity and flexibility, and scalability to support future business growth.
Representatives from FLOW and ALLHC, along with partners and vendors who contributed to the design and construction of the data centre, attended the topping-off ceremony. Amandine Wang, President of A-FLOW and CEO of FLOW, remarked, "The topping off of ML1 is a testament to the vision, commitment, and dedication of all our vendors, partners, and consultants who have contributed to this achievement. Their presence highlights the collective effort and shared ambition that has driven this project forward up to this pivotal moment."
Robert S. Lao, Chairman of A-FLOW and President and CEO of ALLHC, stated, "This project embodies our commitment to supporting the growing demand for data storage as the Philippines transitions to a digital economy. We are proud to contribute and participate in this opportunity to provide the country's need for data centre solutions and digital infrastructure within the Philippines."
Manuel S. Mendoza, President and Chairman of Monocrete Construction Philippines, added, "Without the support of the A-FLOW team, this milestone could not have been possible. Congratulations to the shared success of the Monocrete and A-FLOW team!"
The ML1 Data Centre is strategically located in Laguna, with a total capacity designed to accommodate 36MW IT load capacity. The joint venture aims to support the digital growth and expansion of businesses in the Philippines by leveraging FLOW's expertise in data centre operations and ALLHC's established track record in industrial real estate development.
