Veeam to enhance data resilience with Microsoft AI

Today

Veeam has announced an extension of its partnership with Microsoft, which includes the integration of Microsoft's AI solutions into Veeam's data resilience platform.

This partnership follows a five-year strategic agreement signed between the two companies in 2024. By integrating Microsoft AI, Veeam aims to offer customers quicker insights, enhanced threat detection, and automated recovery processes to safeguard their critical data and facilitate new efficiencies across Microsoft 365 and Azure platforms.

The solutions that will benefit from the new integration include Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365, Veeam Data Cloud Vault, and new Entra ID Solutions. These services will leverage the AI capabilities to improve data resilience by enhancing the ability to detect suspicious activities, identifying backup vulnerabilities, and automating compliance and recovery reporting.

Anthony Spiteri, Regional CTO APJ at Veeam, is available to discuss how this alliance will impact enterprise businesses in Australia and how the company plans to utilise AI-powered solutions to enhance data resilience for its clientele.

"In a world where cyber threats and the dynamic nature of the cloud are constant, data resilience is no longer optional—it's mission-critical," stated Anand Eswaran, CEO of Veeam. "By joining forces with Microsoft, we're bringing AI-powered intelligence to 550,000 customers, and the majority of Fortune 500 and Global 2000 companies, enabling them to protect, detect, and recover faster than ever before."

Jason Graefe, Corporate Vice President, ISV's & Digital Natives at Microsoft, commented on the partnership: "AI is transforming every aspect of business. By integrating Microsoft AI with Veeam's market-leading data resilience solutions, we're helping customers not only protect their critical data but also unlock new insights and efficiencies across Microsoft 365 and Azure."

Veeam Data Cloud, built on Microsoft Azure, offers backup-as-a-service for both Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure, presenting a simple, seamless user experience while promoting significant data protection and security. The platform is designed with a cloud-native architecture that utilises Zero Trust principles, which is crucial for maintaining isolated storage environments and ensuring data protection.

The expanded partnership between Veeam and Microsoft underscores a strategic move to enhance data resilience capabilities through the support of AI. The combined efforts focus on research, development investments, and innovation acceleration, aiming to deliver AI-powered protections that bolster data security and operational recovery for organisations globally.

Veeam's extended integration with Microsoft AI reflects its commitment to improving data resilience frameworks, providing organisations with the tools required to address the modern challenges associated with data security and recovery. These solutions are built on cutting-edge architecture and are driven by a combination of AI and compliance-focused technologies.
