SimpliVity has been accepted into the Microsoft Enterprise Cloud Alliance programme and announced a new R&D hub with the intention of accelerating innovation.
Based in Seattle on the West Coast of the United States, the hub will help build the relationship between SimpliVity and Microsoft by aiding the engineering and marketing of the vendor’s hyperconverged solutions for virtualised Microsoft data centres.
The OmniStack 3.0 Data Virtualisation Platform by SimpliVity is designed to be vendor-agnostic, and is aimed to support any hypervisor, any x86 server, any management tool, and any cloud provider.
By virtualising all IT infrastructure and services below the hypervisor onto x86 building blocks, SimpliVity is able to provide enterprise-grade capabilities with low-cost cloud economics, delivering three times total cost of ownership savings, the company says.
