MSI unveils Intel Xeon 6-based AI-optimised servers
MSI has presented its latest server platforms, which utilise the Intel Xeon 6 family of processors equipped with Performance Cores (P-Cores).
These servers are specifically designed to support AI-driven applications, modern data centers, and cloud-native workloads, while also aiming to optimise power efficiency and lower the total cost of ownership. Danny Hsu, General Manager of MSI's Enterprise Platform Solutions, commented: "As data-driven transformation accelerates across industries, businesses require solutions that not only deliver performance but also enable sustainable growth and operational agility. Our Intel Xeon 6 processor-based servers are designed to support this shift by offering high-core scalability, energy-efficient performance, and dynamic workload optimization. These capabilities empower organizations to maximize compute density, streamline their digital ecosystems, and respond to evolving market demands with greater speed and efficiency."
The new line-up includes enterprise servers tailored for compute-intensive workloads such as the CX170-S5062, CX270-S5062, and CX271-S3066 models, built upon the OCP Datacenter Modular Hardware System (DC-MHS) architecture. The CX170-S5062 is a 1U dual-socket server targeted at space-constrained, high-density environments with support for 32 DDR5 DIMM slots and up to 12 U.2 NVMe bays, suitable for edge data centers and hyperscale deployments.
For requirements demanding maximum storage and PCIe expansion, the 2U dual-socket CX270-S5062 model is available. It also supports 32 DDR5 DIMM slots and offers a larger chassis accommodating up to 24 U.2 NVMe bays, making it ideal for large-scale data processing and AI workloads. The model facilitates PCIe expansion with two double-wide PCIe 5.0 x16 slots.
The CX271-S3066 server, another 2U model, focuses on high PCIe bandwidth with support for 136 PCIe lanes and 16 DDR5 DIMM slots, ideal for AI inference, virtualization, and cloud-native applications due to its flexible PCIe expansion options.
Focusing on exceptional compute density and thermal efficiency, MSI offers the CD270-S3061-X4 and CD270-S3061-X2 core compute servers with a DC-MHS multi-node architecture. The CD270-S3061-X4 is a 2U 4-node server optimised for maximising node density, each node leveraging Intel Xeon processors and supporting 16 DDR5 DIMM slots.
An alternative option, the CD270-S3061-X2 server, provides a balance of compute performance and expandability, featuring a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot for I/O expansion and additional storage options. Both servers incorporate extended volume air cooler CPU heatsinks to enhance thermal management.
These newly introduced server platforms highlight MSI's commitment to advancing data centre infrastructure efficiency and offer solutions poised to adapt to the evolving demands of enterprise technology.
