Interxion and Google partner to offer direct GCP connectivity
Interxion has announced it is strengthening its relationship with Google in Europe.
The carrier and cloud-neutral colocation data center services provider is now offering dedicated access to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) across its Europe territory via Interxion's Cloud Connect, its multi-cloud interconnection platform.
"We are seeing strong demand for private connectivity services to GCP as customers look to reap the benefits of Google Cloud's full portfolio of cloud services via a secure, performant and cost-efficient connection," says Interxion platforms vice president Vincent in 't Veld.
"By colocating at Interxion, businesses can interconnect their private cloud to Google Cloud, as well as to most other leading cloud platforms, making it easy to build hybrid or multi-cloud architectures.
Google Cloud has deployed its Cloud Interconnect points of presence (PoPs) in Interxion's Paris Marseille, Frankfurt, and Stockholm data centers, which will enable customers to directly connect to GCP from these locations.
Furthermore, with Interxion being a part of Google Cloud's recently launched Partner Interconnect service, customers will also be equipped to connect from any of Interxion's data centers spanning Europe via Cloud Connect. What does this mean? Effectively, customers can take advantage of a fully redundant and instant access to GCP from multiple metro areas without the complexity and costs of having to build a network themselves.
"Dedicated Interconnect and Partner Interconnect gives Google Cloud customers even more connectivity choices for hybrid environments," says Google Cloud product manager John Veizades.
"Together with Interxion, we are making it easier for customers to extend their on-premises infrastructure to the Google Cloud Platform."
Google Cloud is the latest addition to Interxion's heavyweight lineup of hyperscale cloud platforms available through Cloud Connect, including Microsoft Azure, AWS, Oracle Cloud, and IBM Cloud.
