DXC launches new SAP practice in Japan to drive transformation

Today

DXC has established a new SAP practice in Japan to assist Japanese enterprises in accelerating their business transformation and growth.

The new practice will be led by Takehiro Nagatsuka, an industry veteran, who has been appointed as DXC's SAP Practise Lead in Japan. Nagatsuka will be responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of DXC's SAP operations in the country, as well as business development and sales. His role also includes formulating go-to-market strategies, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of SAP solutions to customers nationwide.

Japanese businesses face transition deadline

The move comes as many Japanese organisations aim to address the 2027 deadline for transitioning to SAP S/4HANA. For these organisations, modernising legacy ERP systems has become a key priority to ensure business continuity and future growth. As the business landscape evolves with developments in artificial intelligence and cloud technologies, there is increasing demand for partners capable of managing complex transformations efficiently.

DXC, which has over 15,000 SAP professionals globally and more than 280 customers with SAP implementations across the Asia Pacific region, is positioning its new Japanese practice to respond to these emerging needs. The company offers a comprehensive suite of SAP-based solutions designed to simplify IT and modernise applications, with the aim of accelerating digital transformation initiatives.

Recent product developments

In response to market demand for accelerated transformation, DXC recently introduced DXC Complete with SAP and Microsoft. This product is intended to provide customers with a faster, more efficient route to modernising their operations using integrated cloud-based solutions.

"Expanding our SAP practice in a key growth market like Japan underscores our commitment to helping customers modernise with SAP," said Keith Costello, Global Managing Director and SAP Lead, DXC Consulting and Engineering Services. "We're excited to bring global innovations and deep SAP expertise to Japanese organisations, supporting their transformation, not just as a technology provider, but as a true business partner."

Industry focus and service scope

DXC's SAP practice in Japan will initially prioritise key sectors including Manufacturing, Automotive, and Retail. The company aims to deliver SAP solutions that enhance after-sales service performance, improve demand forecasting, optimise inventory management, and increase process efficiency. According to the company, these capabilities are intended to help boost customer satisfaction and unlock new growth opportunities for clients operating within these sectors.

The company highlights its experience as an SAP Global Strategic Service Partner and notes it has been providing SAP-related services for over 35 years. Recently, DXC received the 2025 SAP Pinnacle Award in the "Partner Learning and Skills Growth" category, recognising its contributions to business value and co-innovation with SAP. DXC is also a recipient of multiple SAP Excellence awards.

With the SAP practice now operating in Japan, DXC aims to leverage its global expertise in enterprise application services to support Japanese organisations through their digital transformation journeys. The company emphasises that its SAP solutions are focused on enabling tangible business value and maximising customers' return on SAP investments.
