Carrier debuts QuantumLeap data centre cooling in Asia

Tue, 7th Oct 2025

Carrier has announced the regional debut of its QuantumLeap thermal management solutions this week at a Singapore event. The suite, designed to support the data centre industry's rapid expansion and rising sustainability demands, represents a cornerstone of the company's multi-billion-dollar commitment to intelligent climate and energy innovation.

"Asia is at the centre of the global data revolution, and Carrier is enabling its growth," said Arun Bhatia, Executive Managing Director – Southeast Asia at Carrier. "QuantumLeap combines advanced liquid and air cooling, intelligent controls and predictive service into one integrated platform. From chip to chiller, we deliver the resilience, efficiency and scalability that operators need to keep pace with AI, hyperscale and sustainability demands."

The announcement comes amid a record surge in data centre investment across the region. In 2024, Asia recorded US$20 billion in cross-border data centre investments, with total regional investment projected to reach US$800 billion by 2030. The sector's growth is being fuelled by accelerating adoption of artificial intelligence, cloud computing and digital transformation initiatives, while operators grapple with the challenge of meeting net-zero emissions targets.

Carrier's QuantumLeap platform offers an integrated suite of solutions that manage the full thermal lifecycle of data centre environments. Through a combination of intelligent cooling systems, digital controls and predictive monitoring, it enables real-time optimisation, adaptability and improved energy efficiency. The system's scalability allows it to maintain performance across a wide range of facility types and workloads.

At the event, Carrier will also introduce its liquid cooling solution to the Asian market for the first time. The technology, which directly circulates coolant to high-density servers, provides superior performance, higher rack density and reduced energy use compared with traditional air-based systems.

Carrier's QuantumLeap suite includes several key components. Its chillers and air handling solutions are purpose-built for data centres, incorporating built-in pumps, rapid capacity recovery, low-harmonic variable frequency drives (VFDs) and sustainable refrigerants with a global warming potential (GWP) close to 1. The company's liquid cooling technology features a coolant distribution unit designed for direct-to-chip applications, enabling high-density processing for AI-intensive workloads.

The suite also includes predictive maintenance and service capabilities through Carrier's digital platform, Abound, which uses data-driven insights to minimise downtime and enhance operational performance across interconnected systems. Complementing this are infrastructure management and control tools, such as Nlyte and Automated Logic, which help operators efficiently manage large-scale facilities and their associated ecosystems.

Bhatia said the company's commitment goes well beyond product development. Carrier has pledged to invest more than US$4 billion globally by 2030 in intelligent climate and energy solutions, with a strong focus on Asia.

The regional data centre cooling market is projected to reach US$7.3 billion by 2031, highlighting the critical role of efficiency-focused innovations. Carrier's introduction of its QuantumLeap platform and liquid cooling technology in Asia reflects both the growing importance of the region and the company's push to position itself at the forefront of sustainable infrastructure solutions.

Founded by the inventor of modern air conditioning, Carrier has a long-standing presence in commercial climate control and building automation. Its portfolio spans energy-efficient products and digital platforms that serve data centres, healthcare facilities, schools, retail environments and office buildings worldwide. Through its continued investment in thermal management and intelligent control systems, the company aims to help customers meet their operational and environmental goals as digital infrastructure evolves.

Carrier will showcase its QuantumLeap solutions during Data Centre World Asia in Singapore this week. The company said the launch marks a major milestone in bringing advanced, sustainable data centre cooling technology to one of the world's fastest-growing digital regions.
