Suprema unveils BioStar X for unified AI biometrics & security

Fri, 14th Nov 2025

Suprema has introduced BioStar X, an artificial intelligence-enabled unified security platform designed to combine biometric access control and video surveillance. The new platform aims to centralise security operations across a range of environments, from individual sites to multi-location enterprises.

Unified operations

BioStar X provides security administrators with a unified monitoring console. This interface displays interactive maps, AI-powered video grids, live alarms, and access logs within a single screen. The system removes the need to alternate between multiple software platforms, potentially reducing response times in the event of security incidents. Administrators can also apply detailed access rules, create zone-based restrictions, and implement automated emergency protocols such as lockdowns and fire response procedures.

The platform's AI-driven video intelligence detects events including falls, intrusions, loitering, and tailgating. This allows administrators to focus on proactive threat identification rather than reactive management, supporting a preventive approach to security risks.

Scalable architecture

BioStar X is built to support organisations of varying sizes. Its architecture is designed for scalability, supporting thousands of devices and users. The open API-based system enables integration with third-party technologies, including parking management, perimeter detection, drones, and robotic devices.

To enhance reliability, the system incorporates features including AES-256 encryption, database sharding, and multi-communication servers. These components are intended to provide resilience and business continuity, according to the company, regardless of the size or complexity of the deployment.

Custom integration

The platform is open to integration, giving organisations flexibility to connect BioStar X to existing and future security solutions. This includes technologies both within and external to their current infrastructure. The approach is intended to help organisations tailor their security systems to fit specific operational needs without being limited by proprietary constraints.

Enterprise focus

Suprema emphasised that the new platform is suited to mission-critical and enterprise settings, supporting facilities management requirements where consistency and reliability are expected. The company stated that BioStar X applies the same set of security policies and monitoring functions, regardless of the number of sites or scale of operation.

"With BioStar X, we're delivering total confidence in security operations. One unified platform combining AI intelligence, multi-credential access, and seamless scalability-enabling organizations to grow their security infrastructure without compromise. That's the future of intelligent operations. It represents our vision for the future of enterprise security-intelligent, integrated, and adaptive to continuous change," said Hanchul Kim, CEO, Suprema
