Siemens & Delta launch modular power solutions for data centres

Thu, 20th Nov 2025

Siemens and Delta have entered a global partnership to offer prefabricated, modular power solutions designed to accelerate the deployment of data centre infrastructure while cutting capital expenditure and reducing carbon emissions.

Deployment speed

The collaboration focuses on delivering integrated, containerised power solutions such as SKIDs and eHouses.

These systems are prefabricated and tested off-site, then delivered as plug-and-play modules. This approach aims to reduce deployment time for data centres by up to 50 percent, enabling faster scaling for hyperscale and colocation operators facing surging demand from artificial intelligence and cloud computing.

Cost savings

The modular architecture also promises capital expenditure reductions of up to 20 percent. By using less concrete in optimised layouts, the prefabricated design can also reduce construction risk and maximise use of available floor space within data centres.

The companies state the integrated approach can deliver up to 27 percent lower carbon emissions compared to traditional construction methods.

Energy efficiency

Delta is providing its expertise in power solutions, including uninterruptible power supplies, batteries and thermal management technologies. These components are designed to handle the high-density requirements associated with AI-enabled workloads.

"Delta's commitment to energy efficiency is foundational to this agreement. By leveraging our expertise in power solutions from grid to chip, which enables us to architect the system closer to the critical load, our Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), batteries, and advanced thermal management technologies are uniquely designed for the high-density demands of the AI era. Working with Siemens allows us to further expand the reach of our cutting-edge, energy-saving solutions rapidly through a single, globally supported supply chain across EMEA and APAC," said Jimmy Yiin, Executive Vice President of Global Business Operations, Delta Electronics.

System integration

The integrated solution includes Siemens' electrical power distribution and engineering services paired with Delta's high-efficiency technologies. The prefabricated modules are designed with Building Information Modeling (BIM), incorporating a digital twin of the entire system. This digitalisation allows for real-time data integration with building management systems, enhancing performance monitoring, fault detection, and operational efficiency throughout the data centre's lifecycle.

"Our partnership with Delta represents an important milestone for data center construction in the world's fastest-growing markets. By combining Siemens' electrical power distribution and engineering services with Delta's high-efficiency UPS, battery and cooling offerings, together we are delivering a prefabricated, customizable solution that can drastically cut time-to-market by up to half. This approach also lowers construction risk with better predictability, while enhancing energy efficiency and supporting the long-term sustainability goals of our customers," said Stephan May, CEO of Electrification & Automation, Siemens Smart Infrastructure.

Market approach

The partnership will operate globally, servicing customers and projects across both the EMEA and APAC regions.

The companies will jointly target hyperscale and colocation data centre operators required to scale quickly amid rising digitalisation demands.

Designing power solutions with BIM from the outset, Siemens and Delta will also support the inclusion of third-party products. The digital twin model aims to enable closer collaboration among project stakeholders and improve the accuracy of planning and commissioning processes.
