Schneider Electric & Capgemini launch energy management platform
Schneider Electric and Capgemini have joined forces to launch an innovative energy management platform named "Energy Command Center." This platform is engineered to assist organisations in monitoring and managing the performance of energy assets across their operations, with the primary aim of optimising energy consumption.
The Energy Command Center harnesses a unique combination of digital solutions and state-of-the-art technologies to simplify and enhance energy management, thus supporting organisations in their journey towards smarter and greener facility management.
The International Energy Agency (IEA) has highlighted that energy accounts for over three-quarters of global greenhouse gas emissions. The collaboration between Schneider Electric and Capgemini recognises the importance of clean electricity and the digitisation of energy management technologies to accelerate the global energy transition.
The Energy Command Center provides an integrated and centralised platform designed to monitor, control, and optimise all building assets that consume energy. This includes data centres and critical environments. The system incorporates advanced artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning algorithms, and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies to measure and predict metrics such as energy intensity, asset health, critical operations, renewable energy generation, and the overall performance of energy assets.
Schneider Electric contributes its expertise in connected products, edge control, and advisory applications to help organisations manage their energy supply across multiple assets such as factories and offices efficiently. This approach not only reduces energy consumption but does so within a single integrated platform. Capgemini's role involves leveraging its knowledge in data integration and processing, AI and machine learning, and integrating all products and software into a central decision-making platform.
By using real-time energy consumption and carbon emission data, coupled with modular and interoperable building management systems, the Energy Command Center aims to lower energy consumption and expenses. This allows organisations to meet their goals while advancing towards a net-zero future.

Since 2022, a prototype of the Energy Command Center solution has been tested across Capgemini's operations in India, which constitute approximately a quarter of the company's energy footprint. The platform has facilitated real-time monitoring and control of energy supply across various assets, leading to a 29% reduction in energy consumption by 2023 (compared to 2019) at Capgemini's eight main campuses in India.
