Schneider Electric's sustainability impact score reached 4.04 in the third quarter of 2026, keeping it on track for its 2026 target of 4.20 out of 10.

The update covers the first nine months of Impact 2030, the group's current sustainability roadmap, and tracks progress across operations, supply chains, workforce programmes and community initiatives.

In its own operations, Schneider Electric cut Scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions by 83% against a 2017 baseline. Over the first nine months of the year, its products and services helped customers save or electrify 211 million MWh.

Those efforts have also helped customers save and avoid a cumulative 943 million tonnes of CO2 emissions since 2018, as part of the company's broader push in electrification and energy management.

Supply chain

Supply chain progress was one of the sharper changes in the quarter. The number of suppliers qualifying under Schneider Electric's Zero Carbon Pathway programme rose to 135 by the end of the third quarter, from 15 in the first half of the year.

The programme asks suppliers to quantify operational emissions, adopt emission-reduction targets and calculate indirect emissions through product carbon footprints or company-level Scope 3 reporting. Schneider Electric aims to reach 1,500 qualifying suppliers by 2030.

To support that effort, the company deployed AI-based digital tools to more than 1,200 suppliers during 2026. It also ran 10 supplier bootcamps across nine cities on three continents, alongside more than 250 live coaching sessions and about 35 on-site reviews.

In materials and components, responsible materials accounted for 22% of the areas covered by the programme, up from a 19% baseline in 2025. These categories include steel, aluminium, thermoplastics, electronics, electrical components and packaging.

Circular services increased 1.2 times from the end of 2025. The measure covers customer-owned equipment receiving services such as maintenance, spare parts, take-back and refurbishment, with Schneider Electric aiming to double that activity by 2030.

Workforce and access

Part of the progress was linked to workforce training. During the first nine months of the year, 82% of employees completed designated 2026 Energy Tech upskilling courses, building on an earlier AI training programme that reached more than 142,000 employees in 2025.

Outside its own workforce, Schneider Electric has helped 69 million people gain access to sustainable electricity since 2009. That total includes 1.9 million additional people compared with the first-half result.

It has also trained 1.5 million young people in skills related to electrification and sustainability since 2009, including 90,000 added since the first half. Its target is 3 million by 2030.

Community programmes

At site level, Schneider Electric's Impact Workplaces initiative expanded from five sites in the first half to 59 by the end of the third quarter. The framework measures factors including climate, resource efficiency, people and communities, and the company has set a target of 100 such workplaces by 2030.

Employee volunteering also increased during the quarter. Schneider Electric said 9% of employees are now engaged as Change Agents, with more than 6,000 additional employees completing a volunteering activity in the period, and the programme extending from 49 to 57 countries.

"The strong results we are seeing nine months into Impact 2030 reinforce our conviction that advancing Energy Tech can power progress for all. Sustainable progress demands that we bring entire ecosystems along with us and build the capabilities needed to turn new technologies into positive outcomes for people, businesses and communities," said Esther Finidori, Chief Sustainability Officer at Schneider Electric.

"From scaling electrification and supplier decarbonization, to investing in skills and strengthening the role of our people and sites in their local communities, we see momentum across multiple Impact 2030 programs, and we look forward to accelerating these further in the quarters ahead," Finidori added.

Alongside the quarterly figures, Schneider Electric received several external awards for sustainability and procurement work, while its environmental data programme was cited in a disclosure report focused on transparency standards.
