Phaidra has partnered with Aligned Data Centres to deploy its Prism platform across Aligned's data centre portfolio, bringing AI agents into the company's operations teams.

Prism will act as a read-only intelligence layer for data centre operations, drawing on telemetry from building management systems, electrical power monitoring systems and other infrastructure systems, alongside operational documentation. It is designed to identify early-stage irregularities, support root cause analysis and provide guidance through a natural language interface.

Aligned is deploying the system as it manages increasingly dense and dynamic workloads across digital infrastructure. Those workloads create more complex interactions across compute, power, cooling and networking systems, increasing the demands on operations teams.

Phaidra has also integrated NVIDIA DSX Exchange, part of NVIDIA DSX OS, into Prism. According to the companies, the data layer brings together information from mechanical, electrical, power, cooling and IT systems, giving operators a single view of infrastructure data through a conversational interface.

Traditional monitoring tools have generally focused on surfacing raw data rather than providing context for decision-making. The move reflects a wider shift in the data centre sector towards operational software that helps staff interpret large volumes of facility data as sites grow more complex.

For Aligned, the deployment extends investment in tools for day-to-day operations, commissioning and quality assurance. Michael Welch, Chief Technology Officer of Aligned Data Centres, linked the technology to the practical demands operators face as facilities evolve.

"Data center environments are more dynamic and advanced than ever before. To meet this moment, we owe it to our operators to put the best tools in their hands," said Michael Welch, Chief Technology Officer, Aligned Data Centres.

"Assistive intelligence systems like Phaidra Prism don't replace our teams' expertise - they amplify it, surfacing critical context in real time so our operators can act with greater speed and precision. Beyond daily operations, this technology adds tremendous value by streamlining new capacity commissioning and elevating quality assurance across our portfolio. Ultimately, this partnership is an investment in our people as much as our infrastructure," Welch said.

Operational focus

The agreement shows how AI is being applied in data centres beyond design and construction. Operators are under pressure to maintain reliable performance while managing more demanding workloads, and suppliers are increasingly positioning AI tools as a way to help teams respond more quickly to irregularities in complex facilities.

Phaidra said its approach centres on facility-specific intelligence for operations teams. The company describes its software as a way to unify information often split across separate systems, a longstanding issue in data centre environments where mechanical, electrical and IT data can sit in different operational silos.

Jim Gao, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of Phaidra, said the partnership is intended to align operational practices with the increasing complexity of digital infrastructure.

"As digital infrastructure becomes increasingly sophisticated and dynamic, our operational approach must also evolve. Aligned has built industry-leading infrastructure that can adapt to the demands of high-density computing, and together we're bringing that same adaptability to data center operations - helping teams run facilities with greater speed, efficiency, and reliability," said Jim Gao, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder, Phaidra.

The deployment also highlights the growing role of platform providers such as NVIDIA in the data centre software stack. By using DSX Exchange as a common data layer, Prism is intended to consolidate inputs from multiple infrastructure domains into a single operational view for staff managing facilities in real time.

As operators expand capacity for AI and other intensive workloads, the operational side of the business is becoming a bigger focus for technology vendors. The system is intended to help teams prioritise operational needs and access the information required for faster decisions.
