JLL appoints regional co-heads for Asia Pacific data sector

Today

JLL has announced the expansion of its Asia Pacific data centres capital markets platform with the appointment of Luke Jackson and Bob Tan as regional co-heads of the capital markets data centre business.

Effective from the start of the year, Jackson and Tan take on joint leadership roles for JLL's data centre investment and advisory services throughout the Asia Pacific region. This strategic move is aimed at strengthening JLL's capabilities in the sector, amid growing needs from data centre investors, operators, and end-users.

The duo will guide transaction advisory services encompassing data centre acquisition, disposition, financing, portfolio trade, capital raising, and partnership strategies. Their work will be harmonised with JLL's project management and facilities management businesses to provide a cohesive service offering.

"Our data centre platform must reflect the growth ambitions and demands of an increasingly global investor and client base to best serve this rapidly expanding sector. With their collective experience, combining the unmatched strength of JLL's global data centre capital markets expertise, we're confident that Luke and Bob will establish a new benchmark in delivering innovative capital solution strategies in this dynamic sector," stated Rohit Hemnani, Chief Operating Officer and Head of Alternatives, Capital Markets, Asia Pacific, JLL.

Luke Jackson has transitioned from London to Sydney for his new position. Previously, he headed Data Centres, Capital Markets, EMEA in JLL's London office. His experience with institutional investors, corporations, and operators globally will be crucial as he collaborates further with the EMEA team. Jackson began his tenure at JLL in Sydney in 2008 and possesses substantial experience across commercial real estate sectors.

Bob Tan remains seated in Singapore as the other co-head. He joined JLL in 2005 and has played a pivotal role in advising on a wide spectrum of data centre transactions across the Asia Pacific, involving acquisition, disposal, sale and leaseback, strategic colocation, and portfolio trades.

Stuart Crow, CEO of Capital Markets, Asia Pacific, JLL, commented, "There are clear synergies in providing a cross-border data centres platform for investors. Luke's EMEA advisory experience will seamlessly complement Bob's expertise in APAC, providing solutions our global clients require to make actionable and strategic decisions."
