FYI, this story is more than a year old

Westcon-Comstor has announced an agreement with X-IO Technologies for the Australia and New Zealand region, covering the vendor's full product range.

The companies say the deal will enable resellers to drive accelerated revenue, via access to the full product range, underpinned by X-IO's intelligent storage element and iglu architectures.

X-IO says the new agreement supports its global expansion into the growing marketplace, with Westcon-Comstor providing customers with high-performance storage solutions.

X-IO Technologies provides storage that ‘uniquely adapts' between SAN and software defined storage worlds. The vendor's iglu SAN storage includes self-healing, removing the need for regular servicing.

Tim Cullen, X-IO vice president of global sales operations, says data center and cloud infrastructures demand the highest levels of availability and reliability, with effective, intelligent and flexible storage key to making that happen.

“X-IO actually solves real-life storage problems facing partners and their customers globally,” Cullen says.

“As a key distributor in the APAC region, Westcon-Comstor is a core element of our go-to-market; this will allow more resellers to seamlessly build successful cloud practices,” he adds.

X-IO says the announcement ‘ensures resellers can meet increased customer demand for cost-effective, high performance storage solutions supporting data center and cloud initiatives.

Dave Rosenberg, Westcon-Comstor ANZ VP, says the distributor offers a unique value proposition for resellers looking to drive data center and cloud practices.

“We eliminate multiple distractions associated with choosing the right competitive cloud platform,” Rosenberg says. “This translates into more time creating premier value-added data center and cloud offerings, as well as faster revenue recognition.

Rosenberg says to acclerate both traditional enterprise data centers and cloud platforms, intelligent storage is required.
