Subzero Engineering launches APAC hub in Vietnam for growth

Fri, 28th Nov 2025

Subzero Engineering has expanded its presence in Asia-Pacific with the opening of a new manufacturing and research facility in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The site is intended to support the company's regional growth and deliver data centre containment solutions to meet rising demand across the region.

Regional operations

The Vietnam facility will serve as the central hub for Subzero Engineering's APAC business. Designed with a focus on performance and sustainability, the site enables the company to streamline its supply chain and provide locally tailored products for data centres. The facility's location also positions Subzero closer to fast-growing customer segments in the region.

"This expansion is about more than infrastructure - it's about proximity to our partners, agility in the supply chain and speed to market," said Midge Pan, General Manager, APAC, Subzero Engineering. "Vietnam offers a unique combination of talent, resilience and strategic location that enables us to meet APAC's growing demand for cutting-edge digital infrastructure."

Manufacturing and innovation

The site is structured as a centre of excellence supporting global application engineering teams. It hosts operations including manufacturing, design, and research and development. Products to be produced at the facility include hot and cold aisle containment systems, aisle frames, modular enclosures, and airflow management technologies.

The addition of a dedicated R&D function is aimed at accelerating the development of products designed specifically for APAC requirements. This includes addressing new trends in artificial intelligence, high-density computing, and sustainable data centre operation.

"This new facility is a strategic cornerstone in Subzero's global vision - designed to integrate localized innovation with global scale. By establishing a centre of excellence in Vietnam, we're not just expanding our footprint; we're embedding agility, resilience, and sustainability into the core of our operations.
"This allows us to respond faster to APAC's dynamic market demands while strengthening our worldwide supply chain and advancing our mission to lead the future of intelligent, energy-efficient data centre infrastructure," said Shane Kilfoil, President, Subzero Engineering.

Talent and training

Subzero Engineering plans to create more than 50 new technical roles in Vietnam across engineering and other specialist functions. These positions include software engineers, R&D professionals, and advanced manufacturing specialists.

The company is also developing partnerships with local universities and technical institutes. Planned initiatives will provide internships and training opportunities, helping build a local talent pipeline relevant for the growing digital infrastructure sector.

Sustainability focus

The new Vietnam site is part of an industrial complex designed for environmentally responsible operations. The facility incorporates on-site solar power generation, high-efficiency building systems and other measures to reduce its carbon footprint. The intention is to align local operations with Subzero Engineering's global sustainability commitments.

"This facility represents our long-term commitment to sustainable innovation and local impact across the APAC region," said Pan. "We're building a future-ready operation that combines environmental responsibility with engineering excellence, enabling us to deliver smarter, more efficient solutions faster. By investing in local talent and sustainable practices, we're not just expanding our footprint-we're raising the standard for what global operations can be in the data centre industry."

Expansion strategy

With operations now established in North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific, the company is aiming to provide consistency in quality, local expertise and responsive support for digital infrastructure businesses worldwide. The Vietnam facility's location is intended to improve lead times for regional customers and support adaptation to market-specific needs.

"This new facility is a tangible expression of our commitment to Asia-Pacific and our belief in Vietnam's role in shaping the future of digital infrastructure," added Kilfoil. "It's an exciting new chapter for our global story."
