FYI, this story is more than a year old

Schneider Electric has announced new solutions and resources designed to make Open Compute more attainable for data center managers.

The new portfolio from the energy management and automation specialist includes an Open Rack V2, available pre-assembled or as a flat pack for ease of stocking and shipping, as well as concept designs for a high density, high efficiency power supply unit and battery backup unit.

Schneider Electric says the new resources provide customers with an end-to-end Open Compute data center architecture, including physical and IT infrastructure, enabling them to better visualise large-scale design.

Kevin Brown, Schneider Electric vice president of global data center strategy and technology, says the Open Compute Project has been successful in bringing industry leaders together to collaborate on IT designs for large scale data centers.

“Schneider Electric's new solutions, along with our reference design, underscore our commitment to supporting Open Compute-style architectures and making Open Compute more achievable for customers,” Smith says.
