HPE appoints permanent leader for new hybrid IT division
Earlier this year Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) initiated a new Hybrid IT business group with the aim to bring its infrastructure, software, and services capabilities into a single organization.
"This new organization was conceived to better address the integrated technology needs of our customers," says HPE CEO Antonio Neri.
"Our Hybrid IT business is focused on the services-led and software-enabled infrastructure and solutions we need in order to deliver on our promise to make hybrid IT simple.
Since its inception, HPE chief sales officer Phil Davis has led the business group on an interim basis.
"After a thorough internal and external review, I am pleased to announce that Phil will become our permanent President of Hybrid IT, effective August 1," says Neri.
"I am confident in Phil's ability to lead us in our next chapter given his customer-first, customer-last approach, which has proven to be hugely valuable.
On a deeper level, the Hybrid IT business group is broken down into three business units, which are Hybrid IT Infrastructure, Software-Defined - Cloud, and HPE Pointnext – in addition to Global Operations and Global Sales.
Within these units, Alain Andreoli will continue to lead Hybrid IT Infrastructure, Ric Lewis will continue to lead Software-Defined - Cloud, and Arun Chandra will continue to lead Global Operations.
However, Neri says it is with mixed emotions that the leader of the HPE Pointnext team, Ana Pinczuk, has decided to leave the HPE fold to pursue other opportunities.
"I am grateful for her leadership and strategy that made a significant difference for HPE Pointnext, shifting our team to be customer-focused, outcome-led and people-driven. Ana was exactly the leader we needed to drive our HPE Pointnext organization as we pivoted the company to be services-led with a focus on consumption models and "everything-as-a-service,'" says Neri.
"Ana will work with Phil on a smooth transition plan for the HPE Pointnext team, and in the coming weeks, Phil will announce new leadership for HPE Pointnext.
According to Neri, global sales has been operating on a very healthy basis with the current model doing its job – hence there will be no changes to the company's go-to-market structure.
"After seeing the results of the past six months, I'm confident that with this organizational structure, we are well positioned to execute our strategy, accelerate innovation, and grow—and win—in the marketplace. I am very excited about the opportunities ahead of us," Neri concludes.
